YMS Chairlady's message 2003

It is my pleasure and honour to be elected as the chairman of the Young Member Section (YMS) 2003-04 of the Hong Kong Branch. The past calendar year was a remarkable year of our Section under the chairmanship of Mr. Paul Leung. There were 9 candidates for 7 vacancies for this year’s YMS committee election. It implies that our members are recognizing the work of YMS and we have a group of enthusiastic young mechanical engineers who is willing to serve the Institution and the Hong Kong Branch.

The new committee is composed of 14 committee members, 2 representatives from Student Chapters and 2 co-opted members. Your new committee is keen on, and very much looking forward to, bringing more value added activities to young members, for example, workshop on financial management, career talks, leadership training camp.

With a view to enhance the competitiveness of our young mechanical engineers under the current job market situation, the Section is planning a variety of seminars, workshops, and trainings for our young members. In addition, regular social gatherings will also be organized to strengthen fellowship.
